Fitzgerald Fine Arts’ Contemporary Asian Ceramic Excite Collectors at TEFAF and PAD

As a first time exhibitor at TEFAF, the world's pre-eminent art fair that took place recently in Maastricht, FitzGerald Fine Arts had significantly higher sales and interest from collectors and dealers than expected as a new exhibitor. Optimism among first time and returning collectors who were among the more than 50,000 attendees who visited TEFAF, was strong in every category at the fair, but FitzGerald Fine Arts' contemporary Asian ceramics and ink drawings contributed to bringing a new level of recognition and appreciation among an international clientele for this category of art. Exquisite and unique vases in the traditional Chinese white and blue colors, along with full-size ceramic panels using saturated colorations and ink drawings, were on display at the FitzGerald Fine Arts booth and found eager buyers.
"We were extremely fortunate to be able to obtain a booth at TEFAF's Showcase Gallery this year," commented Benjamin Walker, Gallery Director, FitzGerald Fine Arts, "and being there reinforced the steadily increasing value of the contemporary Chinese art market, especially for the Chinese porcelain artists that we represent." Among the notable sales were Zhu Di's important Lucky Cloud, Zhang Guojun's Beyond Mountains, Gan Daofu's Link series and Jared FitzGerald's monumental Automatic Writing temple jar. "Our artists achieved private collector and fair sales records for their works with prices above what we expected," added Walker.
At this year's PAD, an art and design event for aficionados and collectors of decorative arts and design in Paris that took place in March, FitzGerald Fine Arts was a first-time exhibitor alongside Galerie Jacques Lacoste and other prestigious galleries that represent 20th and 21st century paintings, sculpture, decorative art and furniture. For the upcoming Art Antiques London, June 15-18, FitzGerald Fine Art will also be a first time exhibitor at this highly anticipated international show in that brings British royalty, world class museum directors and other collectors to Kensington Gardens.
FitzGerald Fine Arts represents a collective of artists that includes Zhu Di, Gan Daofu, Zhang Guojun and Jared FitzGerald, whose vases, panels, drawings and paintings combine old-world techniques with modern day motifs and imagery. For the ceramic works, the kiln fires of Jingdezhen, located in northeast province of Jiangxi, are used and have produced most of China's porcelain for 1,700 years. Modern day artists and ceramists dedicate their lives to learning and preserving the heritage of this remarkable artistic tradition which uses the snow-white porcelain that comes from the uncommonly pure stone deposits found there. With locations in New York's SoHo, Beijing and Jingdezhen, the gallery is steadily gaining recognition around the world for its presentation of contemporary Chinese porcelain and ink drawings.
