Biography

Yuan Lin was born in Henan, China in 1991. She earned both her BFA and MFA from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Jingdezhen, China. Yuan attended the best college specializing in ceramics to satisfy her longing for this mysterious art form. Through her studies, Yuan mastered traditional ceramics-making techniques, and with this knowledge, she expanded her interest by studying the "new colors on over-glazed panels." For Yuan, Picasso's inventive techniques have been her continuous inspiration, also she's been quided by Freud's Unconscious Thought Theory, which inspired her to think about how the events that surround her life can subtly affect the way she creates her artworks. Yuan now lives and works in Jingdezhen, China.
