June 2015
FitzGerald Fine Arts, the leading specialist in contemporary Chinese ceramics, is to reveal a number of significant new works by some of China’s most important ceramic artists at the forthcoming Masterpiece London art fair. The specialist dealer, with a gallery in New York and artist’s studios in Beijing, Jingdezhen, Hongzhou and New York will also showcase a selection of exciting emerging international artists.
Major new pieces by Gan Daofu, Zhang Guojun, Mansheng Wang and Zhu Di, including ceramic works, porcelain panels and ink paintings, will be exhibited by the fair’s only dedicated contemporary Chinese ceramics dealer.
A highlight of the stand will include a dynamic new wall sculpture by Chinese artist Zhou Rong (right) who produces abstract works that explore China’s rapid urbanisation, which will be shown alongside intricately detailed monochrome ink paintings by Turkish artist Burcu Oz, a new addition to the gallery’s growing portfolio of international artists.

Founding Director, Jared FitzGerald says: “We are excited about this opportunity to present a selection of fired porcelain panels, for which no platform has yet been established in Western venues. Masterpiece is an elegant and exciting art fair, and one that is fitting for these works by Chinese artists who have been educated in the traditional arts but who are breaking the mould of Ming and Qing dynastic art forms with their innovative contemporary painted designs.”
FitzGerald Fine Arts supports the work of artists who draw on traditional Chinese materials, motifs and production methods to realise a striking contemporary aesthetic. Many of the artists are based in Jingdezhen, China, a region that has been associated with the production of porcelain for over 1,700 years. Other represented artists have developed their practice internationally.
The range of works to be exhibited by FitzGerald Fine Arts at Masterpiece London 2015 will demonstrate a mastery of timehonoured techniques and production processes with a commitment to dynamic contemporary creativity and aesthetic innovation.
